About the APA

The APA is the world’s largest amateur pool league with more than 250,000 members competing in 8-Ball and 9-Ball Leagues throughout North AmericaClick here for more information about the history of the APA.

I joined the APA almost 13 years ago. The APA provided an inexpensive form of recreation where I could meet people in a casual environment.  It is cheaper than golf and air conditioned!  One thing led to another and before I knew it I was playing 3-4 nights a week.  I was terrible when I started (ask some of my former teammates!)  Thankfully, the APA Equalizer Handicap system enabled me to compete with players of various skill while I myself improved.  With some lessons and practice I managed to improve to a skl 6 in 8-ball and a skl 7 in 9- ball.  I have played many times in the APA Fall and Spring Singles Regionals, US Amateur Qualifiers, LTC's, Money Cups and even a few pro events.  Over the years, thanks to the APA, I have made some great friends and business associates.  I hope to make your experience as fulfilling as mine.

Sincerely,
